AYUSHMAN E-KYC REGISTRATION CAMP (16/03/2023)
KAHER Institute of nursing sciences Belagavi NSS Unit -4 in Collaboration with Belagavi District Digital CSC VLES association had conducted Ayushman e-kyc registration camp at KLE institute of nursing sciences Belagavi to enroll students and college staff. 183 eligible students have been successfully enrolled on 16/3/2023. REPORT OF AJINORAH GLOBAL VENTURES (15/03/23)
The AJINORAH GLOBAL VENTURES, Ajinoarh Institutions Mangalore in collaboration with KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences student placement cell, Belagavi organized Webinar on “Career Awareness Programme” on March 15th 2023 at seminar hall through Zoom platform. Mr. Veereshkumar N, Principal KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, appreciated the team for organizing the event. Mrs. Sandra, Divisional Manager, Ajinoarh Institutions Mangalore has conducted the webinar on:

REPORT OF FACE PAINTING COMPETITION ON GENDER DISCRIMINATION (17/02/23)
Department of OBG Nursing, KAHER INS organized a Face painting competition on Gender discrimination-Topic “Achieving Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment” on 16th February 2023 at KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi.
Topics were announced a week ago with rules and regulations. Codes were given to each participant and 60 minutes time was allotted for the face-painting competition. The evaluation was carried out by Mrs. Radhika Paresh Barve, Artist and Gym Coach, and Dr. Aarati M., Professor & HOD, Department of OBG, Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi. A total of 06 participants were present, of which 03 were from KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Yellur road, Belagavi. The winners of the competition were:
- First Prize: Ms. Kirty Wader, 4th B.Sc. N., KAHER INS Belagavi.
- Second Prize: Ms. Sunanda Maiti, 2nd year GNM, KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Yellur road, Belagavi.

Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity on 26th January 2023 at KLE University’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi.
Chief Guest on this occasion was Dr.(Col) M. Dayanand Medical Director, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC Belagavi, Principal Prof. Veereshkumar Nandagaon, Vice Principal Dr. Sangeeta Kharde, Dean Dr. Preeti Bhupali teaching and non-teaching staff and my dear fellowmates, Belagavi hoisted the flag. The function proceeded with a patriotic song sung by master Joel Mathew followed by a speech on this occasion by Ms. Tanuja from GNM 1st year.
The gathering was addressed by Prof. Veereshkumar and the Chief guest Dr.(Col) M. Dayanand enlightened the occasion with a few words of motivation.
On the occasion of the Amrit Mohatsav the following competitions were conducted and distributed the prizes,

REPORT ON LAMP LIGHTING AND OATH TAKING CEREMONY “SAMARPANA" (05/01/2023)
KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi celebrated Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of the 36th batch GNM (Diploma in Nursing) and 34th batch of B.Sc Nursing (Degree Nursing) on 5th January 2023.
Prof. Veereshkumar Nandgaon, Principal of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries.
The chief guest for the function Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Professor & QMR Manipal college of nursing, Manipal expressed her views on importance of nursing profession.
The guest of honor was Dr.(col) M.Dayanand, Medical Director, KLES Dr. Prabahakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Belagavi. They expressed their views on helping hands and skills for nurses are very important, nurses are the backbone of heath care system and advised the students to serve the patients irrespective of any cast, creed, race and disparity and also added by saying that nursing is a noble profession than any other profession.
Dr. N.S. Mahantshetti officiating Vice-Chancellor, KAHER, Belagavi, in her presidential remarks she inspired students to be dedicated and compassionate towards their services and with right attitude can bring a change into the nursing profession.
Total 206 ( B.Sc (106) and GNM (100) Nursing students) took oath during lamp lighting ceremony.

FRESHER'S DAY CELEBRATION (30/11/2022)
KAHER Institute of Nursing sciences, Belagavi celebrated Freshers Day on 30th November 2022 in the KLE Centenary convention Center, H.B Rajshekhar Hall (600 seater). The event started with an impactful introduction by the MOC’s for the event and they were Saishwari, Deepak and Rajani.
The MOC’s for the event started the function by welcoming the Principal, Vice Principal, Dean, HOD,s teaching and non-teaching faculty students and all the fresher’s. Without any delay the theme for the freshers party was launched and that was “Genesis 2022”. The meaning of Genesis is ‘a new beginning’ and indeed our freshers were having their new beginnings.
Shortly the freshers were called upon the stage to introduce themselves and everyone did it with great excitement. After the introduction, theSNA team was introduced and a short video of the team members and the events organized till date was displayed on the screen. A short tea break was given and the event resumed within 20 minutes.
The cultural event started with a welcome dance performance by a fresher which was followed by a solo singing performances group dance performances and a group singing performance. Everyone was watching the event delightfully and enjoying the performances. There was also a short film and a very interesting stand-up comedy prepared by the freshers.
It was now time for Mr and Ms Fresher. 14 students had participated and had to go through three rounds i.e. the introduction round, talent round and questionnaire round. The judges had a tough time in selecting the Mr and MsFresher but finally Mr Fresher was Cloy and MsFresher was Richa.
All the freshers participated in the event with great zill and enthusiasm. The audience was very cheerful and enjoyed every aspect of the event. The event came to an end with the fashion show put up by the freshers. The theme for the fashion shows were“Carnival” by GNM freshers and “Bollywood” by BSc freshers.
The Principal sir praised all the freshers for their wonderful talents and thanked the SNA team for the great team work. Finally the spectacular event came to an end.

“JAB HUM BAITHE THE GHARON MEIN, WOH JHEL RAHE THE GOlI” It reminds us of the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers.
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi and student council of the institute celebrated the 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 in our institute with great patriotic sentiments and triumph. As a symbol of tribute to Mahatma Gandhi a puja was held by Prof (Dr.)Sudha A Raddi, Dean and all the HOD’s of our institute.
The chief Guest Dr. M.V. Jali Medical Director and CEO KLES Dr.Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC, Prof.(Dr.) Sudha A Raddi, Dean and Principal, KLE University Institute Of Nursing Sciences,Belagavi. Unfurled the tri colour flag at 8:30am.Social distancing was maintained and covid protocols was strictly followed.
The tri coloured balloons were released in the air as a symbol of freedom. A patriotic song was sung by the first year Bsc nursing students. The chief guest gave a motivational speech on the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers, followed by Prof (Dr.) Sudha A Raddi enlightented us with her speech. Certificate were distributed for the deserving students for poster competition on female feticide. Speech was rendered by a student from second year Bsc(N) with focus on different historical events.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks and lastly, sweets were distributed to the entire staff and students.
REPORT ON GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION (10th to 12th September 2021)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi festival from 10th to 12th September 2021 with full enthusiasm and joy. The faculty members of the institute installed the “Ganesh Idol” in the institute for 3 days.
The event started from “PRATISTHAPANAM” to aarthi and Prasad was arranged by the faculty of SNA team.
Ganesh Heramatte Swamiji offered pooja for 3 days. Dr.Sudha.A.Raddi, Principal of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi offered pooja with great devotion. All teaching and non-teaching faculties participated actively in the pooja and Prasad was distributed to all after pooja.
The three days were filled with, grand aarthis, delicious Prasad and blessing from “Ganpati Bappa”
On the third day, faculty members of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi participated in Ganpati visarjan pooja.
In view of spread of covid-19 Pandemic, this year it was celebrated by keeping small Ganesh Idol and also followed certain preventive measures such as wearing mask and social distancing.
REPORT ON ANNUAL SPORTS MEET (28th to 30th April 2022)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized Annual sports meet from 28th to30th April 2022 . Miss Aiyukta Gawas, the general secretary of SNA 2021-2022 welcomed the chief guest Mr.Rajesh Shinde international swimmer, Eklavya Awardee,Prof (Dr.) Sudha .A. Raddi principal of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, HOD’S and other teaching and non-teaching faculties.
Mrs.Sushma Patil the SNA advisor introduced the chief guest and the function.
Prof (Dr.) Sudha .A. Raddi welcomed the chief guest by giving a token of love and appreciation. Other dignitaries were welcomed by the SNA members.
The sports meet was inaugurated by hoisting the flag and oath was declared by the sports secretary Mr Francis D’souza. After the declaration of the sports meet open, March past competition was held for all the students batch wise. Prof (Dr.) Sudha .A. Raddi principal spoke on sports manship and also highlighted that winning is not the priority but participation is very important. Miss Andrea Gonsalves from Msc 2nd year delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the inaugural ceremony.All the athletic were held at district stadium Belagavi. The events on the first day were March past, 100 meters, dicus and shotput, 800meters, 1500meters, javelin, long jump, 200meters, 400meters, throwball.
The events on the second day were indoor events and they are badminton, carom, chess, table tennis, kabaddi.
The events held on the third day were football,kho-kho, 100×4 relay and tug of war.
Teaching and the non-teaching faculty were present during the inauguration. Many students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and won prizes.
REPORT ON FUN WEEK (9th to 14th May 2022)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized fun week from 9th to 14th May 2022. Fun week was organized with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Students organized fun week which exhibited talent, coordination and team spirit of our college.
Prof (Dr.) Sudha .A. Raddi principal of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, HOD’S, faculty member, teaching and non-teaching stuff were present.
The fun week was initiated with the theme Music Monday, Mismatched Tuesday, Out of the world Wednesday, Character Thursday, Traditional Friday, Food Saturday.
A great week and many learning with fun moments were there for all the students.
Day 1-9�522
The theme for the day was music Monday. Where the students could dress up as their favorite singer or band . The event started at 4:00pm. The events that were conducted are group singing, solo singing, group dance, also different games were held for the teachers and students.
The students were told to use any objects like bench, bottles, buckets, sticks etc to play the music. Hairstyle competition was conducted in the morning at 11:00am. The first day was organized by 1st year Bsc and 1st year GNM.
Day 2- 10�522
The theme for the day was mismatched where the students could combine bizarre combinations of the tops and bottoms, wear loads of accessories that has no relevance to the outfit. Mehendi competition was conducted in the morning at 11:00tp 12:30pm. The activities that were conducted are ramp walk, group dance various games like bombarding the city, busting the balloons and also there was a prize for the best outfit of the theme. The events were conducted by 2nd year Bsc and 2nd year GNM.
Day 3- 11�522
The theme for the day was out of the world. All that the students had to do was go crazy with space theme outfits the events that were conducted was flash mob , group dance , games, spot prize, dialogue saying and a prize for a best outfit of the theme . The activities were conducted by 3rd year Bsc and 3rd year GNM. Face painting competition was held in the morning at 11:00 to 12:30pm.
Day 4- 12�522
The theme for the day was character. Here the students were asked to dress up as their
Favorite cartoon or TV show character. The events that were conducted were flash mob, dance, and various games for teachers and students spot prizes. On this day we also celebrated Nurses day in the morning sessions were conducted where the principal and other nursing stuff gave speech, we also conducted activities like nurses got talent where the students could showcase their talents.
The activities were conducted by 4th year Bsc.
DAY 5- 13�522
The theme for the day was traditional. The students had to dress up in ethnic outfit.
The activities were dance, solo dance, singing, games and also there was a DJ night where all the students enjoyed dancing to the fullest.
Day 6- 14/05/22
Food stalls were organized on the last day of fun week. The students from ea`ch class prepared two items. There were foods like bhelpuri, shevpuri, gobi Manchurian, panipuri, masala papad, watermelon juice and sabudana fry. Prepared by the students, all the teachers and the students enjoyed the delicious food items.
It was a fun-filled week with activities that were enjoyable and at the same time educative. Hence the fun week came to an end leaving the students and teachers with lots of fun-filled memories and happy moments.

REPORT OF HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON “HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM ON PREVENTION OF ANEMIA AMONG ADOLESCENTS GIRLS”
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, Department of OBG Nursing conducted Health awareness program on prevention of anemia among adolescent’s girls “students studying in 7th and 8th standard at Govt. Kannada Medium High School, Kakati, Belagavi on 16.08.2019 as a part of NSS activity. Lecture was delivered by Mrs. Shubharani, Mrs. Nirmala D’Souza, Mrs. Uma Kole, Assistant Professor INS KAHER, along with UG students Health education was delivered regarding occurrence of anemia, its causes, clinical signs & symptoms and its prevention followed by distribution of pamphlets. After the lecture, the forum was open for all to clear their doubts. The total number of beneficiaries was 67.
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME OF NEWLY ADMITTED B.Sc (NURSING), P.B.B.Sc (NURSING) & M.Sc (NURSING)
KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences organized the orientation programme for newly admitted students of First year B.Sc Nursing, PBBSc Nursing & M.Sc Nursing. The Chief guest for the orientation programme was Mr. Nigussie Tadesse Sharew, Dean School of Health Sciences, Debre Behran University, Ethiopia. Total 100 students were oriented and made aware regarding the Nursing course to which they have taken admission.
Mr. Nigussie spoke on the importance of ample career opportunities which are booming in the field of Nursing abroad. Dr. Sudha Raddi, Dean of Nursing who presided over the function mentioned that once the students finish their course, none of them are left unemployed. Specially in Government sector, under the National Health Mission and various platforms, students get recruited easily as they have the brand name of KLE.
Parents and students were made aware regarding code of conduct, rules and regulations of the institute. Mr. Amey & Mrs. Vaishali, anchored the event & Mr. Shivarajkumar Dandagi, Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
GUEST LECTURE REPORT ON “MANAGEMENT OF CLEFT LIP AND CLEFT PALATE”
The guest lecture was conducted on “Management of cleft lip and cleft palate” organized by department of Child Health Nursing at KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi on 28th September 2018 Dr. Rajesh Powar Professor & Head, Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery delivered elaborative lecture on “Management of cleft lip and cleft palate” and explained in detail about cleft lip & cleft palate, which helps to enhance the knowledge of participants regarding cleft lip & cleft palate. Prof (Mrs) Sumitra LA, HOD, department of Child Health Nursing welcomed the guest speaker Dr. Rajesh Powar.
M.Sc (N) 1st & 2nd year, B.Sc (N) 3rd year, P B.BSc(N) 1st year, GNM 2nd year students and faculty from department of Child Health Nursing KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi attended the guest lecture.

GUEST LECTURE ON “IMMUNODEFICIENCY DISORDERS"
Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi Organized Guest Lecture on “Immunodeficiency disorders” on 21st September 2018. The guest speaker was Dr.Vinoda, Senior Medical Officer (ART – Center) BIMS, Belagavi. Guest speaker gave a lecture on AIDS (HIV) Incidence, prevalence and Mode of transmission and diagnostic test, Treatment modalities and preventive measures from HIV aids and B. Sc. Nursing – 2nd year, students and all the faculties of Medical Surgical Nursing department were present during the guest lecture.
CELEBRATION OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Dept. of Community Health Nursing celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2018. On this occasion, tree plantations were made (Vanamahotsava) at the premises of Govt. School, Kakati and Govt. Deaf & Dumb School, Belagavi. Total 20 plantations were made. Along with this, Health Education programme on avoiding use of plastic was given by our students.
During this event, School teachers from Govt. School, Faculty from Dept. of Community Health Nursing, School children and children from Govt. School actively participated in the event.
REPORT OF NEPAL MOU
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KLE ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (KAHER) Belagavi, Karnataka, India and CHITAWAN MEDICAL COLLEGE, SCHOOL OF NURSING, Chitwan, Nepal on 17th May 2018. The main aim of this MoU is to develop an on-going framework for student and staff elective placement and exchange program, Conducting colloquiums, exchange of academic/research information and related materials to facilitate joint publications by collaborating faculty members.
Dr. VivekSavaji Vice Chancellor, KAHER, Dr. V.D Patil, Registrar, KAHER, and Dr. Sudha Raddi, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Principal, KAHER INS and Mrs.Mamata Sharma Nepune, Associate Professor, CMC School of Nursing and Mr.SiddeshwarAngadi, Vice principal, CMC School of Nursing, Nepal, were present from Nepal to sign the MoU.
REPORT ON GUEST LECTURE
The Guest lecture was conducted on “Management Of High Risk Newborn” on 15th May 2018, by Department of Child Health Nursing, KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi.
Mrs. Suman Pawar, Associate Professor, College of Nursing, Wanless Hospital Miraj, gave a comprehensive lecture on “Management of High Risk Newborn”. She elaborated on different types of High risk cases and their management and role of paediatric nurse, which is going to help for promotion of optimal health and development of the child.
Prof (Mrs) Sumitra LA, HOD, Department of Child Health Nursing welcomed the guest speaker and vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Vaishali S.B , Senior tutor, dept. of Child Health Nursing.1st Year M.Sc (N), 2nd Year M.Sc (N), 3rd Year B.Sc (N)and 2nd Year GNM students and faculty of Child Health Nursing department attended the guest lecture.
Total Beneficiaries: 110 students.
INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY (19th May 2018)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi and KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital together celebrated International Nurses Day on 19th May 2018.
Prof (Dr) Sudha Raddi, Dean Faculty of Nursing Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi unfolded the theme. “Nurses -A Voice to lead- Health is a human right” and welcomed the gathering. Prof Sumitra L.A. Vice Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, MrsSujathaSatish, Nursing superintendent, KLE Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital MrsShivaleela S, Nursing superintendent,& KLE Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC Belagavi and MrsMilkaMadhale were the guests for the event.
06 Nurses were felicitated for their relentless service in the field of nursing from college and hospital.
MrsGeeta Desai, KLE Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital proposed the vote of thanks. Total 160 Nurses participated in the program the whole program was coordinated by SNA team. Program ended with high tea.
HIGHER EDUCATION IN FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES
KLEUs Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized guest lecture on “Higher Education in Foreign Universities” on 31st August 2016 at Seminar hall.Lecture was delivered by Mrs. Poonam Yarlagadda, CEO, Ascent Consulting Education Services Hyderabad. The topics covered were various Job opportunities for nursing and pharmacy and foreign universities that provide higher education like Austrelia, US etc. After the lecture, the forum was open for all, to clear their doubts.
