REPORT ON REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION (26th JANUARY 2021)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi and Student Council of the institute celebrated 72nd Republic Day on 26th January 2021 with great enthusiasm. All the Staffs gathered at 8.30 am in the college premises. Flag hoisting was done by Chief Guest Dr. M.V. Jali, Medical Director & CEO KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Belagavi and Dr. Sudha A Raddi, Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi. After flag hosting, Dr. M.V. Jali addressed the students regarding patriotism and importance of being patriotic. Dr Sudha Raddi addressed the faculty and students regarding the importance of celebration and youngster’s role in forming the healthy society.
On the occasion of Republic Day, the Student Nurses Association team of the institute organized competitions on Rangoli, Face painting and Quiz to enhance patriotism; and the prizes were distributed to the winners of respective events after the Flag hoisting ceremony. Students of B.Sc 4th year sung a patriotic song on this occasion. The Celebration ended by distribution of sweets to students.
Dr. Sudha A Raddi and Dr M.V Jali released Alumni newsletter “Splice 2021” and “EDU newsletter” and “Calendar of events” of Department of Nursing education. In view of spread of Covid-19 Pandemic, all faculty members and students followed certain preventive measures such as wearing mask and social distancing.
REPORT ON ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized annual sports meet from 24th March to 26th March 2021. Ms. Anthea Gonsalves, General Secretary of SNA 2020-21 welcomed the Chief Guest – Mr. Satyanarayan Vernekar, Dy. Range Forest Officer, Belagavi; Dr. Sudha A Raddi, Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing sciences; HODs and other teaching and non-teaching faculties. Mr. Manjunath Sogalad, SNA advisor introduced the Chief Guest of the function. Dr Sudha A Raddi welcomed the Chief guest by giving a token of love and appreciation. Other dignitaries were welcomed by the SNA members. The Sports meet was inaugurated by hoisting the flag and Oath was delivered by the chief guest. After the declaration of the sports meet open, March past competition was held for all the students batch wise.
Mr. Satyanarayan Vernekar gave a speech on the importance of sports and his lifetime achievements. Dr. Sudha A Raddi spoke on Sportsmanship spirit and also highlighted that winning is not the priority but the participation. Mr. Myron Rodrigues, Sports Secretary of SNA 2020-21 delivered the vote of thanks and concluded the inauguration ceremony.
All the athletic events, kabadi, kho-kho, javeline throw, cricket, tug of war, shot put and discus throw were held at District stadium Belagavi; volleyball, football and throw ball were conducted in USM hostel campus; and indoor events (badminton, Carom, chess, table tennis) was conducted in indoor stadium of KAHER, Belagavi. Teaching and non teaching faculty were present during the Inauguration. Many students participated and won the prizes.
REPORT OF FRESHER DAY CELEBRATION
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi celebrated fresher day on 19th March 2021 from 6.00pm to 9.30pm at KLE Centenary convention center, Jirge Hall, Belagavi.
Dr. Sudha A. Raddi, Principal KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi addressed students and formally welcomed into the Nursing family.
The cultural events started with Mr. and Ms. Freshers which included introduction round, talent round, ramp and question& answers round. The function continued with various cultural programs organized by freshers to show their talents. All the students participated with great joy and enthusiasm. The function ended by 9:30pm.

REPORT ON LAMP LIGHTING & OATH TAKING CEREMONY “SAMARPANA” (19th MARCH 2021)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi celebrated LAMP LIGHTING & OATH TAKING CEREMONY of 34TH Batch of GNM (Diploma in Nursing), 32ND Batch of B.Sc (N) (Degree Nursing) on 19th March 2021.
Prof (Dr) Sudha Raddi, Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries felicitated Mrs. Surekha Shinde, Matron in OT department of KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Belagavi for her great service and journey in nursing field.
Chief Guest for the function Dr. Vivek A Saoji, Vice Chancellor, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi expressed his views on importance of Nursing profession.
Guest of honor Mrs. Shirly, Matron, Military Hospital, Belagavi, Karnataka expressed her views on helping hands and skills for nurses are very important, nurses are the backbone of health care system and she said that serve your patients irrespective of any cast, creed, race and disparity and the nursing is a noble profession than any other profession.
Dr. M.V.Jali, MD & CEO, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC, Belagavi in his presidential remarks he inspired students to be dedicated and compassionate towards their services and with right attitude you can bring change into your nursing profession.
Total 100 B.Sc Nursing students & 78 GNM (Diploma) Nursing students took oath during lamp lighting ceremony. Alumni news letter and Edu care news bulletin was released by the dignitaries.

REPORT ON FAREWELL FUNCTION (8th September 2020)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi celebrated Farewell function on 8th September 2020. Mr. Manjunath Sogalad and Mrs H. Gineta, SNA advisor welcomed the gathering. In view of Covid -19 pandemic, only 10 students were accommodated at a time to avoid crowding and also followed certain preventive measures such as wearing mask, social distancing and hand sanitization.
Mementos were distributed by teachers to all out going batches i,e M.Sc II years, P.B.BSc II years, and B.Sc IV year students as a token of memory. Their original documents and course completion certificates were also handed over during the function.
Old SNA students were appreciated for their hard work for the previous year. The function came to an end with mixed feeling of joy and sadness. High tea was arranged for all.
REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION (15th August 2020)
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum and Student Council of the institute celebrated Independence Day in our Institute with great patriotism and great joy.

REPORT OF ANNUAL SPORTS MEET (28th and 29th February 2020)
KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research Institute of Nursing Sciences organized Annual Sports Meet 2020 on 28th and 29th of February 2020. Indoor games were organized on 28th February and on 29th the outdoor games. The inauguration begins with flag hosting followed by March fast and recitation.
The chief Guest for Inauguration was Mrs. Mayura Shivalkar, who is the winner of Colombo Ironman 2019. Mrs. Mayura Shivalkar addressed the students. In her speech there are three “D"s namely dreams, desire and dedication, which makes every individual successful.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Sudha Raddi, Dean Faculty of Nursing, Principal KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences. The winners of the march fast were B.Sc. Nursing IV years on theme Anekata mein Ekata. The inaugural ceremony ended with vote of thanks. All HOD’s, Teaching faculty and non-teaching faculty were present for the function.
The indoor games were arranged on 28th February at indoor stadium. All the faculty and students actively participated in the events.
NURSES WEEK CELEBRATION
Nurse’s day is celebrated on 12th may in accordance with the birthday of the founder of modern nursing Ms Florence Nightingale. The nurse’s week was completely celebrated in a different way amidst the lockdown due to covid-19 and maintaining all social distance norms. Various events were conducted by the SNA of KAHER Institute of Nursing sciences Belagavi. The events were conducted from 18 may 2020 up to 23 may 2020.
Events such as essay writing competition was held on 18 may 2020 through Cisco webex meeting app where students were supervised by faculty and sna members later they had to scan and email their essays to the respected judges. The topic was on “Nurses as frontline warriors.”
POEM WRITING COMPETITION
On the 19 may 2020 we had the poem writing competition which was held similar to essay writing competition on the topic “My journey as a student nurse.”
There were 2 competitions held on 20 may 2020, one was the juggling competition and the other the poster competition. For the juggling competition students were asked to whatsapp their videos of themselves juggling without editing the video. The poster competition was conducted on the Cisco webex meeting app and students were later asked to whatsapp the picture of their posters.
May 2020 wherein the students use their creativity to make the best from waste. It was such a wonderful experience to watch students create amazing stuff from waste. They had 2 minutes to present their items and send in a short video and picture of what their final product looked like.
A solo singing competition was held for our melodious voices. The video was sent on whatsapp with a time limit of 1min 30 sec After all it was pleasant listening o the voices. The competition was held on 22 May 2020 which included in both English and Hindi languages.
The same day simultaneously there was painting competition for students to speak through their colours; which was held on Cisco webex meeting app and later the pictures of their painting was sent to the respected judges. The last day of the event on 23 May 2020 we had the solo dance and photography competition.
The solo dance competition videos were sent to the judges through whatsapp. The photography.
competition had a theme of indoor photography #stayhomephotography where students were asked to do indoor photography and not outdoors the photograph were emailed to the respective judges.
It was a great, wonderful and completely new concept of conducting the nurse’s week event online but still there was great participation from the students and also everything was managed and conducted very well and decently with the help of our SNA advisors and faculty members. The entire event was very thrilling and students participated with full enthusiasm.
ANNUAL DAY 2020
KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi Organized Annual Day “NYASSA-2020” at KLE Centenary Convention Centre on 13th March 2020. Chief guest of the function was Dr. Vivek Saoji, Vice Chancellor, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi, expressed his views on importance of nurses in health care and also advised the students to involve in research activities. The chief guest appreciated components of Nightingale Challenge for the year 2020.
Dr. V.A. Kothiwale, Registrar, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi in his presidential remarks mentioned that nursing is a Nobel profession, he congratulated the students for selecting this institute where the students are exposed to good clinical experience and also get international exposure through various collaborations.
Dr. Sudha Raddi, Principal KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Principal briefed about the annual report of the college.
Dignitaries of the function released the Annual College magazine NYASSA 2020 and Calendar of Nightingale Challenge 2020. Marciel DaCosta, General Secretary, Student Nurse Association proposed vote of thanks.
Prizes were distributed to the students who secured highest marks in the academics and those who participated in extracurricular activities. The function ended by National Anthem.

Dr. R.S.Mudhol, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, JNMC,KAHER, Belagavi conveyed the message is Nursing services is very big service in health care industry and nursing profession is the best profession.

KLE University’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, celebrated Teachers day on 5th September 2019 in Documentation room of KAHER Institute of Nursing sciences Belagavi, Prof (Dr) Sudha Raddi, Dean & Principal, Vice Principal and HOD of all Departments offered flowers to a portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, as a tribute.
