KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi, Department of OBG Nursing, in collaboration with NSS unit conducted Awareness Program on Menstrual Hygiene followed by sanitary Pads distribution with the aim to create awareness among school girls regarding menstrual hygiene and management of premenstrual symptoms at Government Kannada Medium School Honaga on 18  ^th June 2024.

The awareness programme was delivered by Dr. Shweta Angadi, Senior tutor, Department of OBG Nursing and Mrs Shubharani Murgod Asst Prof, Department of OBG Nursing. And Mrs.Gineta Patil Asst Prof, Department of OBG Nursing was present for the event.. The awareness program included about orientation towards menarche, diet during menstruation, menstrual hygiene, and detailed explanation regarding remedies for reliving premenstrual symptoms was covered. Following the talk, the students were given time to discuss their concerns. The doubts and concerns of the students were clarified. The program came to an end by distribution of sanitary pads. The awareness program benefited a total of 37 girl students of Honaga village.
