ALUMNI GUEST LECTURE ON IMMUNIZATION

Department of child Health Nursing along with Alumni Association of KLEU’s Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi organized an Alumni Guest lecture on “immunization ” at KLE University’s Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi on 27 February 2023 from 10 am to 11.30 am by Dr. Deepali Asst professor KLEs Institute of Nursing Sciences, Gokak, Belagavi. Guest speaker spoke on , immunization, cold chain, immunization schedule, etc.. After the lecture, the forum was open for all to clear their doubts.

The lecture was attended by third year Bsc Nursing students of KAHER Institute if Nursing Sciences Belagavi. The participants were 100. Programme came to end By Vote of thanks given by Mr.sanjay Algundi, Senior tutor, Department of child Health Nursing.

CELEBRATION OF WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK

World “Breast Feeding Week” was celebrated on 4th August 2022 at Postnatal ward of KLE’S Dr.Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital & MRC Belagavi, organized by department of Child Health Nursing, KAHER, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi. Mothers were sensitized about the importance of Breastfeeding and various techniques used for feeding. All queries related to breastfeeding were cleared.

Beneficiaries: 30 Postnatal Mothers.

The department of Child Health Nursing KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, organized Children’s Day celebration at Maheshwari Blind SchoolNehru Nagar, Belagavi on 14th November 2022.

Prof. Veeresh Nandgaon Principal KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences delivered the speech on the occasion of children’s day celebration. Prof. Gavi Salimath, HOD Department of Child Health Nursing, spoke to the children’s regarding techniques and importance of hand hygiene. The faculty from Child Health Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing students actively involved in celebration of children’s day and demonstrated the steps of hand washing to the children.

The department of Child Health Nursing donated 800 Braille flash cards for letter writing to the children.

REPORT ON HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The Department of Child Health Nursing organized a CNEon “Care of child on Ventilator”, at KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi on 25^th April 2022.

Resource person for the function were Dr. Santosh S Patil Consultant Critical Care Physician KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC Belagavi, spoke about the Ventilator, Modes of Ventilation, Types of Ventilation, Ventilator Graphics and Mrs. Surekha Kiran RN, BSN, MSN Nurse Educator (QCHP, ANCC) Dept. of Nursing & Midwifery Education Doha, Qatar, shared about the Care of ET Tube, Suctioning, Nursing Management during the child on ventilator.

KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Department of Child Health Nursing celebrated the Children’s Day on 12th November 2021 at Snehalay (Sparsha) Special School for Differently Abled Children Khasabag, Belagavi. Organized the game events to the children’s such as musical chair, bucket and ball, book balancing. The prizes were distributed to the winners. REPORT OF WEBINAR ON EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND BREAST FEEDING

Department of Child Health Nursing, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized Virtual Webinar on the eve of World Breast Feeding Week Celebration “EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND BREAST FEEDING” on 6-08-2021. Mr. Mahaling M.H, Asso. Prof KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi introduced the Guest Speaker.

The resource person was Mrs. Sheela Shetty Asst.m Professor, Department of Child Health NursingManipal College of Nursing Manipal delivered the lecture on “EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND BREAST FEEDING”. Mr. Jagadeesh G , Asst. Prof moderated the session. Participants were allowed to clear their doubts. Around 112 delegates across the India registered and attended the Webinar.

Department of Child Health Nursing, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi in collaboration with Bule Hora University College of Health & Medical Sciences, Ethiopia organized Training program on Mendeley Software on 8-02-2021. Dr. Sanjay Shinde, Asst. Prof College of Health & Medical Sciences (BHU), Ethiopia delivered a lecture on use of Mendeley Software in research.

Prof. Dr. Sudha A Raddi, Principal, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi and Prof. Sumitra LA, Dean & HOD Dept of Child Health Nursing KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi were present over the function. Mr.Tamiru Anole, Academic vice president, BuleHora University Ethiopia delivered the Keynote Address. First session was engaged by Mr.TakalaUtura, Dean College of Health & Medical Sciences (BHU), Ethiopia on Case Control Design. Dr. Sanjay Shinde, Asst. Prof College of Health & Medical Sciences (BHU), Ethiopia spoke on Cross Sectional Design.

Afternoon sessions began by 2.30pm, Mr. GaviSalimathAsso.Prof KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi expressed his views on Cohort Study Design. Mrs. ShubharaniMuragodAsst.Prof KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi delivered the lecture on Randomized Controlled Trial. Participants were allowed to clear their queries. Around 280 delegates across the India and abroad registered and attended the Webinar.

REPORT ON CELEBRATION OF “WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK" (1st & 2nd August 2016)

Beneficiaries: Total 49 postnatal mothers

This unique Department deals with the art and science of caring for newborn children and those up to the age of 14 years. The orientation in this delicate process is provided by senior staff at the 'Well Baby Clinic' and 'Under Five Clinic' and also at the regular child health OPDs. The advanced facilities include Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU and a General Pediatric Ward. Nursing students are exposed to a wide gamut of childcare through these facilities.
