NSS Unit-4 in collaboration with Department of Community Health nursing of KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi and Sub-center Kakati conducted Poshan Abhiyan program at primary school, Kakati Village Belagavi on 22/9/2022 to create awareness regarding Importance of Nutrition and how to Prevent and reduce under-nutrition (underweight prevalence) in children (0-6 years) Reduce the prevalence of anemia among young Children, Reduce the prevalence of anemia among Women and Adolescent Girls in the age group of 15-49 years and reduce Low Birth Weight etc… Dr. Anjali Joshi, Senior Medical Officer department of OBG, KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre Belagavi Delivered the health talk. NSS volunteers from KAHER INS participated in different types food exhibition and celebrated baby shower for Antenatal Mothers (By filling the lap with sweets and fruits) Mrs. Namrata Devulkar NSS Programme Officer and Departmental staffs From KAHER INS and Child Development project officer (CDPO), ZP Officer, Taluk and Zilla Panchayat members and Ms. Ashwini Jadhav CHO were present during the programme. Around 250 Children & 60 Mothers were benefited from the program.
