Report of Finishing School for 4th Year B.SC Nursing Students 2025
Department of Nursing Education (DONE), KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences organized Finishing School for Final Year B.Sc students from 3rd February to 8th February 2025
Workshop on Soft skills was organized on 3rd Feb 2025, Dr. Veereshkumar Nandgaon, Principal and Dr. Asha Bhat Associate professor, KAHER institute of Nursing sciences Belagavi, Dr. Amey Khande, Mrs. Genita Chanu were the resource person. The sessions started with the importance of soft skills in daily life how to interact and treat others, develop positive interactions and interpersonal skills The topic were on communication, interpersonal skills self-confidence and personality development.
On 4th Feb 2025 session was organized on Advance Nursing Procedures Simulation Skill Lab JNMC where Dr. Manjunath S, Dr. Umesh N. and Dr. Virupaxi S. trained the students in group advance procedures on simulators (CPR, AED, ET Tube insertion, Lumbar Puncture, Paracentesis, IUCD insertion, IV cannulation, New-born resuscitation and conducting normal delivery on high fidelity simulators where the Students redemonstrated.
Department of Medical Surgical Nursing KAHER INS conducted sessions on Advance nursing procedures (Catheterization, IV cannulation, Ryles tube Insertion and feeding) from 3/2/2024 to 6/2/ 2025 by the faculty Mrs. Sheela N, Mr Sumeet S, Mr. Mahesh B and Ms. Tenzin N. During the skill drill session, the students were trained in groups demonstration and re-demonstration in Fundamentals lab and Advance skill lab.
Life skill training was conducted by Dr. Ashwini Narasannavar. NSS Programme Co-ordinator KAHER Belagavi. NSS Coordinator Dr. Nagraj Patil, JNMC on 6th Feb 2025 trained the students with different activities which helps students to understand and find new ways of thinking and problem solving.
NABH by Dr. Rajshekar Somannati, Clinical Administrator, KLES Dr. P.K Hospital & MRC, Belagavi. On 7 th Feb 2015, Sir oriented the students regarding the importance of NABH, how the quality and standards are maintained in the hospital to minimize the infection and also importance of safety of patients and all staffs working in the hospital. Sir concluded with the importance of biomedical waste management.
Workshop on conducted on “Newborn resuscitation and identification of abnormal heart & lung sound” by Department of Child Health Nursing on 7th Feb 2025, where all the faculty from Department demonstrated the neonatal resuscitation and new-born skills to support babies that do not breath on their own after birth, students redemonstrated the skills learnt.
Department of OBG Nursing, KAHER INS, conducted sessions on 3 Feb to 6 Feb 2025 on Normal Labour, During the skill drill session, the students were trained in groups for demonstration and re-demonstration in OBG lab.
Students were also rotated in Advance Simulation Skill Lab, Career Counselling was organized on 08/02/2025 by Victor Hospital, Madgaon Goa Total 100 students were beneficiaries.
