Department of OBG Nursing, KAHER Institute of Nursing Science, Belagavi conducted a workshop on “Hands on training for midwifery students on selected topics: Strengthening skills” for GNM 3rd year students of KLES Institute of Nursing Sciences, Gokak at KAHER Institute of Nursing Science, Belagavi on 28th March 2023. The event started with a welcome remark by Mrs. Uma Kole, Asst. Prof. followed by inauguration of the programme by Dr. Iranna K., Principal, KLES INS, Gokak; Prof. Veereshkumar Nandagaon, Principal and Dr. Sangeeta N Kharde, Vice-Principal of KAHER INS, Belagavi.

Dr. Sangeeta N Kharde gave a keynote address regarding the program. Prof. Veereshkumar Nandagaon addressed the gathering regarding the importance of Hands on training program for nurses. The program was continued with 4 different Hands on training sessions by demonstration and re-demonstration of the procedures: Abdominal examination, Mechanism of Normal Labour, Forceps application and Episiotomy suturing.

Total 32 students benefited from the event. The students participated actively throughout the sessions. After the sessions, students were encouraged to voluntary re-demonstrate the procedures and were awarded. The program ended at 2:00pm.
