The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecological (OBG) Nursing, KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, organized an Essay Competition on “Respectful Maternity Care” on 2 ^nd May 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (60 minutes). The objective of the competition was to identify the gaps between maternal health policies and their implementation with the aim of improving safe motherhood practices and maternal health outcomes.

             The competition was open to GNM 3rd Year, B.Sc. (N) 3 ^rd and 4 ^th Year, Post Basic B.Sc. (N) 1 ^st Year and M.Sc. (N) 1 ^st and 2 ^nd Year students. A total of 26 students actively participated

The essays were evaluated by Dr. Ashwini Bulbuli, Professor, Department of OBG Physiotherapy, KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, based on content relevance, critical thinking, organization, originality and presentation.

           The winners were felicitated with prizes during the celebration of International Midwifery Day recognizing their outstanding performance and promoting awareness of respectful maternity care among future nursing professionals.
