Department of OBG Nursing, Institute of Nursing Sciences, KAHER Belagavi organized Faculty Skill Training Programme on PPIUCD insertion and Per vaginal examination on 28th February 2026 from 11.30am to 1.00pm. During the programme, an overview of PPIUCD was provided, covering eligibility, timing of insertion, contraindications, and counselling. The principles and steps of per vaginal (PV) examination were explained, including assessment of cervical changes and fetal presentation. Infection prevention measures, aseptic techniques and management of possible complications were also discussed.

Demonstrations of PPIUCD insertion on pelvic models and PV examination using mannequins were conducted, along with guidance on proper documentation and reporting. This was followed by supervised hands-on practice to enhance participants’ clinical skills and confidence.
