Panel discussion on Bridging the Gap Between Policy and Practice Related to Maternal & Child Health with departmental PG students of 1st & 2nd M.Sc. Nursing (17/04/2026)
The Department of OBG Nursing KAHER INS has organized a panel discussion on Bridging the Gap Between Policy and Practice Related to Maternal & Child Health with departmental PG students of 1st & 2nd M.Sc. Nursing to identify and discuss the gaps between maternal health policies & their implementation, aiming to improve safe motherhood practices & outcomes on 17th April 2026. The panel discussion focused on critical issues related to bridging the gap between policy and practice in maternal and child health. Key topics discussed included the persistence of implementation gaps despite strong frameworks such as the RMNCH+A Strategy, challenges arising at the levels of policy design, funding, and execution, unrealistic assumptions regarding the availability of resources at healthcare facilities, and the over-reliance on doctors while underutilizing nurses and midwives. A total of 110 3rd-year nursing students benefited, along with departmental PG’s from the program.
