He earned the FIAGES fellowship (Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Endosurgery) from the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES) in 2012. With over 18 years of teaching experience, he has made significant contributions in laparoscopic and endosurgery. since 2007, he has been part of the teaching faculty at Jawaharlal Nehru edical College, Belgaum, and he also serves as Senior Consultant in Laparoscopic and General Surgery at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital &Medical Research Centre, Belagavi. His clinical and research interests include gastrointestinal surgery, pancreatic surgery, thyroid surgery, and hernia repair. From his postgraduate days onward, he has maintained an excellent academic record, including winning First Prize in the National Quiz in Surgery at the ASICON conference in 2006.

He is an active member of professional organizations such as the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), and the Society of Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of India (SELSI). Dr. Pattanshetti regularly participates in professional activities through such memberships and by holding key positions.

Dr. Pattanshetti has an impressive publication record, with 23 papers in international and national journals. He has delivered multiple paper presentations at national conferences and workshops, and has delivered guest lectures as a resource person. He has also organized many workshops and conferences in various capacities. His scholarly impact is indicated by an h-index of 7. In academic governance, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Studies for Surgery and allied subjects at KAHER and acts as an external member in several reputed universities.

In administrative roles, Dr. Pattanshetti has served as Officer-in-Charge of the Central Library of KAHER for more than 10 years, and as Vice-Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, for 5 years. He is actively involved in peer-reviewing and editorial activities. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the Scientific Society, a Web of Science-indexed journal published by Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagaum.
