BLOOD DONATION CAMP CONDUCTED (12/05/2023)

On the occasion of International Nurses Day KAHER Institute of Nursing Sciences Youth Red Cross Wing in collaboration with Rotary Club of Belagavi- Darpan organized a Blood Donation Camp.

Mr. Veereshkumar S.N, Programme Officer- Youth Red Cross Wing KAHER- INS, welcomed the gathering.

Rotarian (RTN), Pushpa S. Paravatrao, Chief Guest for the function spoke on importance of blood donation and role of youths in social responsibilities and also encouraged to join the rotary club.

Dr.Sudha A. Raddi, Principal KAHER-INS in her presidential remarks spoke on role of Nurses in health care system and their dedication during pandemic.

Shri V.S Veergi, In charge Blood Bank KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Dr. Vittal Mane, Medical Officer, Dr. Arushi, Mr. Shivanand Khanapure, PRO and Staff arranged the facilities for the camp.

Membership director RTN, Raksha Service Project director Dr. Spoorthi, Member RTN Urmika represented the Rotary Club Darpan. S.Kharade, Vice Principal KAHER-INS, Dean Dr. Preeti Bhupali and other staffs. Student Representatives Mr. Niranjan Wadekar, Mr. Arun Benni and other members participated actively.

Around 60 units of blood was collected during the camp and lastly Mr. Virupakshi, Co-coordinator- Youth Red Cross Wing, KAHER-INS, proposed the vote of thanks.

REPORT ON COMMUNAL HARMONY WEEK

Youth Red cross Unit of KAHER Instituteof Nursing Sciences, Belagaviorganized a communal harmony weekfrom 24/11/21 to 26/11/21. Observed communal harmony day organizing variouscompetition among students such as face painting competition, drawing competition,rangoli competition and essay competition on “Importance of peace and communal harmony in India.”100 students are participated and prize winners were awarded.

YOUTH RED CROSS WING

“Youth Red Cross Wing” of KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi organized “Blood Donation Camp” on 13th May 2017 at Nursing Foundation lab.

Prof. Milka Madhale, KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research Institute of Nursing Sciences inaugurated the camp and gave brief explanation regarding importance and advantages of blood donation. Mr. Mahaling M.H Programme officer, Youth Red Cross Wing, other faculty and students from KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, were present during the function. Total 45 (Forty five) nursing students donated the blood.

Youth Red Cross Wing, KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research Institute of Nursing Sciences Belagavi observed “World AIDS Day” on 1st December 2016.

Faculty and students from KLEU’s Institute of Nursing Sciences participated in the rally, which was organized by District Health & Family Welfare and District AIDS Prevention Society, Belagavi.

The Rally began with informative plaque cards regarding awareness on HIV- AIDS, from DC office, and ended up in front of the KG Hall, Belagavi.

Youth Red Cross Wing- KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum.

Youth Red Cross Wing KLE Academy Of Higher Education and Research’s Institute of Nursing Sciences was started on 12th August 2014 with the aim of Promoting humanitarian principles and values.

Red Cross promotes the Humanitarian values, which encourage respect for other human beings and a willingness to work together to find solutions to problems. From the seven fundamental principles, the movement aims to influence the behaviour of all the people. Too many people die as a result of no access to even the most basic health services and elementary health education.

Health and community care has become a cornerstone of humanitarian assistance, and accounts for a large part of Red Cross spending. Through these programmes, the Red Cross aims to enable communities to reduce their vulnerability to disease, and prepare for and respond to public health crises.

Guiding and supporting the development of its Societies is one of the Red Cross’s fundamental tasks and runs through these four core areas and others. Capacity building programmes and activities include: management and volunteer training, improving branch structures, planning, fund-raising and gender equality. Creating the opportunity for Red Cross Societies to network.

Other Major activities includes : hospital services, blood bank, HIV/AIDS programmes, home for disabled servicemen, vocational training centers, tracing activities, maternity, child and family welfare, nursing, junior red cross activities, preparedness and prevention of communicable & infectious diseases, relief operations in fire, railway & other accidents and events.
